
New Delhi- The organisers of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) have confirmed that player auctions for the upcoming season will be conducted on January 3. Alongside this announcement, the league has unveiled the six franchises that will participate in PWL 2026, marking its return after a six-year break.
The fifth season of the Pro Wrestling League will be held from January 15 to February 1, 2026. The tournament is expected to feature top-tier Indian and international wrestlers competing in a dynamic, high-intensity team-based format designed to deliver fast-paced action.
The six franchises set to compete in season five are Haryana Thunders, Tigers of Mumbai Dangals, Punjab Royals, Maharashtra Kesari, Delhi Dangal Warriors, and UP Dominators. These teams represent some of the country’s strongest wrestling regions, reinforcing the league’s nationwide presence and competitive framework.
The player auction is anticipated to be a key highlight ahead of the season, with more than 300 professional wrestlers from over 20 countries registered to go under the hammer. The auction pool includes Olympic and World Championship medallists, along with a strong representation of Indian men and women wrestlers, reflecting the league’s global appeal and competitive depth.
Commenting on the developments, Akhil Gupta, CEO of the Pro Wrestling League, said that PWL 2026 represents a significant milestone in the league’s journey. He noted that with the franchises finalised and the auction process in place, the league is focused on building a transparent, competitive, and athlete-focused season. He also highlighted the encouraging response from wrestlers worldwide.
With a refreshed identity and a restructured competitive format beginning with the January 3 auction, the Pro Wrestling League aims to usher in a new era for professional wrestling in India, blending world-class competition with enhanced fan engagement.
