Tickets for Ranchi Leg of Hockey India League 2026 Go Live

New Delhi: Hockey India on Monday announced that tickets for the upcoming Hockey India League (HIL) 2025–26 season will be available free of cost for fans, as part of its initiative to broaden the sport’s reach and attract larger audiences across host cities.

The Women’s Hockey India League will commence in Ranchi on December 28 and conclude on January 10. The Men’s HIL will begin in Chennai on January 3 before moving to Ranchi from January 11. The final phase of the tournament will be staged in Bhubaneswar — widely regarded as the cradle of Indian hockey — from January 17 to 26.

Ticket distribution for the Ranchi leg of the Hero HIL opened on Monday at 11:00 a.m., while tickets for the Hero Men’s HIL matches in Chennai will go live from Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.

Continuing its commitment from previous editions, Hockey India aims to take the sport to different regions of the country and make top-level hockey more accessible to its passionate fanbase.

Hockey India League governing committee chairperson Dilip Tirkey said the decision to offer free entry was taken to ensure packed stands and greater fan engagement. “Once again, we have decided to provide free tickets so that hockey lovers can enjoy matches across Chennai, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar. The women’s league will be held in Ranchi, while the men’s HIL will span three cities. With several of the world’s top players participating this season, we are looking forward to a month of high-quality, thrilling hockey,” he said.

Echoing similar views, HIL governing committee member Bhola Nath Singh described the tournament as a celebration of the sport. “Hero HIL will be a month-long festival of hockey. We invite fans to be part of #hockeykajashn. Our objective has been to expand the sport’s fanbase across regions, and we are confident of witnessing full stadiums throughout the season,” he said.

The 2025–26 Hockey India League will feature eight men’s teams and four women’s teams. Both competitions will be played in newly revamped formats, promising fast-paced action and high-intensity contests throughout the season.
