
Varanasi— The upcoming edition of *Fit India Sundays on Cycle* in Varanasi will celebrate India’s successful bid to host the Commonwealth Games 2030.
Honouring Kashi’s rich legacy of art, culture and sporting excellence, the event will feature special appearances by:
* **Pandit Sajan Mishra** – Padma Bhushan awardee and legendary vocalist of the Banaras Gharana
* **Sanju Sahaj** – Renowned tabla artist of the Banaras Gharana
* **Sunil Singh** – Indian weightlifter and silver medallist at the 2025 Asian Youth Weightlifting Championship
* **Divya Singh** – Former captain of the Indian Women’s Basketball Team and a celebrated sportsperson from Varanasi
* **Pratima Singh** – Former India basketball player and member of the iconic Singh Sisters
* **Pooja Sihag** – Indian freestyle wrestler, CWG 2022 bronze medallist with multiple national and Asian accolades
* **Priyanka Goswami** – Olympian race walker, CWG 2022 silver medallist and one of India’s top race walking athletes
Capturing the vibrance of Varanasi’s ghats and lanes, this edition will include national-level fitness activities such as Zumba, dance, and yoga, making it one of the city’s major fitness celebrations. Hundreds of citizens, students, security personnel, and cultural lovers are expected to join.
*Fit India Sundays on Cycle* began in December 2024 under the guidance of Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya. The initiative continues to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of **“Fitness Ka Dose, Adha Ghanta Roz”** and the nationwide campaign against obesity.
Since its launch, Sundays on Cycle has evolved into a people-led movement. Over **4,000 NaMo Fit India Cycling Clubs** and lakhs of citizens participate regularly each week, transforming it into a community-driven fitness revolution across the country.
