Ranji Trophy: Jammu & Kashmir, Mumbai, Services, and Andhra Register Comfortable Wins

New Delhi: Jammu & Kashmir, Mumbai, Services, and Andhra wrapped up dominant victories on the final day of their respective Round 5 matches in the 2025/26 Ranji Trophy season.

At the GGM Science College Hostel Ground in Jammu, left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq delivered a match-winning performance to seal a massive 281-run win for J&K over Hyderabad. Needing just three wickets on the final morning, J&K bowled out Hyderabad for 190 in a little over five overs, giving away only 21 runs. Mushtaq, who finished with superb figures of 7/68, claimed all three remaining wickets to secure his ninth first-class five-wicket haul. With this victory, their third of the season, J&K earned six points and moved to second place in Elite Group D with 20 points.

At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the hosts needed barely half an hour to complete an innings-and-222-run win over Puducherry. Resuming at 231/6, Puducherry added just 45 more runs in 8.3 overs on day four. Pacer Tushar Deshpande picked up three wickets, while captain Shardul Thakur bagged two, helping Mumbai strengthen their position at the top of Group D with their third win and seven points from the match.

At the Chaudhry Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Lahli, Services clinched a convincing 211-run victory against Haryana in their Elite Group C clash. Spinner Pulkit Narang claimed five wickets in the second innings, while Amit Shukla added three more to complete a ten-wicket match haul. The loss marked Haryana’s second defeat of the season.

Meanwhile, at Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur, left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar powered Andhra to an innings-and-81-run victory over Jharkhand in their Elite Group A encounter. Saurabh’s 5/47 helped bowl out Jharkhand for 158 in 52.2 overs, earning Andhra a bonus point.
