China Masters: Satwik-Chirag Enter Semis, Sindhu Exits in Quarters

Shenzhen (China) – India’s top men’s doubles duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty stormed into the semifinals of the China Masters 2025 with a dominant straight-games win, while P.V. Sindhu bowed out in the quarterfinals.

Ranked No. 4 in the world and seeded eighth, Satwik and Chirag defeated China’s Ren Xiang Yu and Xie Haonan 21-14, 21-14 in just 38 minutes at the Shenzhen Arena. The pair, runners-up at last week’s Hong Kong Open, have now reached back-to-back semifinals on the BWF World Tour. They will next face Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik for a spot in the final.

Meanwhile, Sindhu’s campaign came to an end against top seed An Se Young of Korea. The two-time Olympic medalist lost 14-21, 13-21 in 38 minutes on Court 2, marking another setback in her bid for a title breakthrough this season.
