New Delhi- With excitement building ahead of the inaugural season of the Shooting League of India (SLI), launched by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) and scheduled for later this year, international shooters are expressing their enthusiasm for the event.
Sharing his thoughts, Croatia’s renowned shooter Miran Maricic said, “I am truly honoured to be invited to register for the Shooting League in India. It’s an incredible competition that will bring together some of the top athletes from across the world, all competing under one roof.”
“The level of talent and competitiveness is bound to be outstanding, and I believe it will be a remarkable learning experience for everyone. The atmosphere promises to be both challenging and inspiring. Personally, I see this as a fantastic opportunity to test my abilities and grow as an athlete within this exciting new format,” he added.
Maricic also highlighted the impact the league will have on aspiring young shooters.
“It will be extremely motivating for young shooters to watch and compete alongside the best in the world. This league will give them a rare opportunity to learn directly from elite athletes and gain invaluable exposure,” he said.
Praising India’s passionate sports fanbase, Maricic stated, “India has an exceptional audience for sports, and I’m confident this league will help promote shooting to a much wider audience. With so many expected to watch—both in the arenas and through broadcasts—this league will undoubtedly spark strong interest and help elevate the sport to new heights.”
The upcoming competition will feature mixed team events across various categories, including pistol events (10m, 25m), rifle events (10m, 50m, three positions), and shotgun disciplines (Trap and Skeet), in accordance with NRAI’s technical guidelines.
