Apple Brings Next-Gen Siri and New iCloud+ Entertainment Bundle to India

Apple has rolled out its latest software updates with a new generation of Siri, expanded Apple Intelligence capabilities and additional parental controls, while introducing a major change to its subscription offerings in India.

The company has also announced that iCloud+ subscribers in India will now receive access to Apple TV and Apple Arcade at no additional cost, effectively combining cloud storage with entertainment services under a single subscription.

The new software updates include iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and tvOS 27. Apple said the next-generation Siri, which brings more advanced AI capabilities to its voice assistant, is initially being introduced as a beta feature in English.

Support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish is scheduled to be added in October.

The new Siri is part of Apple's broader push to integrate artificial intelligence more deeply into its devices. The company has also expanded Apple Intelligence features across its software ecosystem, although availability of individual AI features may vary depending on the device and language.

New parental controls for children

Alongside its AI-focused updates, Apple has expanded tools designed to help parents manage children's digital activity.

The new features include age-based safeguards for child accounts, parental approval for access to new websites and contacts, enhanced Communication Safety protections and a redesigned Screen Time experience.

The changes are aimed at giving parents greater control over what children can access and how they interact with devices, while making Apple's family safety features more closely integrated into its operating systems.

iCloud+ gets entertainment benefits in India

Apple is also changing the way it offers some of its subscription services in India.

From this month, iCloud+ subscribers in India will get Apple TV and Apple Arcade as part of their subscription without paying an additional fee. The iCloud+ plan will start at Rs 75 per month for 50GB of storage.

Subscribers will also receive access to Apple Music Select, which includes a collection of ad-free music stations.

Apple TV provides access to the company's original films and television series, while Apple Arcade offers more than 200 games without advertisements or in-app purchases.

The bundled offering is expected to roll out across more than 100 countries and regions by the end of September, although the exact services and pricing can vary by market.

Apple TV and Arcade subscriptions changing in India

The move also marks a significant change for Indian subscribers.

Apple TV and Apple Arcade will no longer be offered as standalone subscriptions directly through Apple in India. Existing subscribers to the two services will continue receiving access through their iCloud+ subscription, while their individual subscriptions will be cancelled.

Apple is also stopping new subscriptions to Apple One in India. However, customers who already have an Apple One plan will continue to receive the services included in their existing subscription.

For Indian consumers, the change effectively shifts Apple's strategy from selling several individual services to offering more value through its cloud-storage subscription.

With the latest software updates and the revamped subscription structure arriving together, Apple is increasingly positioning iCloud+ as more than just a storage service, while its new AI-powered Siri signals a deeper push to make artificial intelligence a central part of the Apple device experience.
