Sushma Swaraj's legacy will continue to inspire generations: BJP leaders pay tribute on her death anniversary

BJP leaders and senior Union ministers on Thursday paid tribute to former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on her death anniversary, recalling her contributions to Indian diplomacy, parliamentary traditions and public life.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Swaraj as an accomplished orator and a sensitive leader who considered public service a responsibility towards the nation. He said her life represented dedication to the country, public welfare and democratic values.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also remembered Swaraj, saying her warmth, grace and presence continued to be deeply missed.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid tribute to the former Union minister, remembering her as a distinguished parliamentarian and senior BJP leader.

Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi highlighted Swaraj's contributions to Indian diplomacy and parliamentary life. He described her as a leader who combined determination with compassion and dedicated her public life to serving the nation.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy recalled Swaraj's role in public life and her contribution to the formation of Telangana. Remembering her as "Telangana Chinnamma", Reddy said her support for the statehood movement would remain deeply valued by the people of Telangana.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also paid tribute to Swaraj, recalling her long association with Delhi, including her tenure as Chief Minister. Gupta said Swaraj's powerful oratory, warmth and ability to connect with people made her an exceptional mass leader.

She also recalled Swaraj's tenure as External Affairs Minister, particularly her reputation for responding to Indians facing difficulties abroad. Gupta said Swaraj's accessibility and sensitivity provided reassurance to people seeking help from outside the country.

Leaders across the BJP said Swaraj's commitment to public service, humility and dedication to the nation continued to inspire generations.
