Engine of goods train fails on Ranchi-Muri line, more than half a dozen trains stranded

Ranchi: Engine of a goods train failed between Gautamdhara and Gangaghat railway stations located on the Ranchi-Muri railway line under the Ranchi division of the South Eastern Railways following which more than a half a dozen trains including Rajdhani Express remained stranded on different stations.

The South Eastern Railway on its part said that at around 0615hrs the engine of the goods trained failed between the two stations due to which train traffic movement on the section was hampered for more than four hours. The normal traffic movement on the route started from 1030hrs.

Due to the incident, various mail and express trains including the Raj Dhani Express were stranded at different railway stations. Train Number 18615 Howrah-Hatia Express and Train Number 15028 Gorakhpur-Hatia Maurya Express were stationed at Gautam Dhara while train number 18623 Islampur- Hatia Express and Train number 20840 New Delhi- Ranchi Rajdhani Express were held at Kita railway station.

Train Number 13404 Bhagalpu-Ranchi Vananchal Express was stopped at Silli while Train Number 18113 Tata-Ranchi Express was stopped at Muri. Similarly Train Number 18606 Jainagar-Ranchi Express, Train Number 63598 Asansol-Ranchi Memu Passenger and Train Number 68035 Tata-Hatia Express were also kept standing on different railway stations on the route.
