Newly elected Congress MLAs meet Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi

Ranchi: The newly elected MLAs of the Jharkhand Congress met AICC president Sonia Gandhi at her residence in New Delhi. Later they also called on Mr Rahul Gandhi.

The MLAs were also accompanied by cabinet ministers of Hemant Government Dr Rameshwar Oraon and Leader of Legislature wing of Congress party and cabinet Minister Alamgir Aalam. Most of the MLAs who reached Delhi met the senior leaders of the party at the AICC headquarters.

Apart from the MLAs party MP Geeta Koda and Dheeraj Sahu also met Sonia Gandhi. During the meeting incharge for Party Affairs in Jharkhand RPN Singh was also present. After coming out of the meeting Mr Singh and the
MLAs said that it was a courtesy meeting.

He said that the high command has given him the responsibility to strengthen the party organisation. He said that Ms Gandhi had congratulated him on the good work in Jharkhand.

The MLAs on their part said that Ms Gandhi had given them her best wishes for work in the state. Congress sources said that Ms Gandhi had one to one meetings with the MLAs during which she collected their opinion regarding government formation and cabinet posts. She also detailed the strategy in the government.
