Thousands of people hold peaceful protest against CAA in capital

Ranchi: Thousands of people in the state capital on Thursday protested peacefully against the Citizenship Amendment Act NRC and NPR despite the rainfall.

Speaking at the programme Balram said that CAA brought by the BJP government is completely unconstitutional and is a violation of article 14,15 and 21 of the constitution.

He said that the Jal Jungle and Zameen and the culture of the people is the only citizenship of the people of Jharkhand.

He said that Sajha Mancha condemns the attacks which have taken place in the last five years on the Jal Jungle and Zameen and incidents of mob lynching in the state. He said that people of Jharkhand will continue to oppose these anti-people policies.

Ibrar Ahmed said that BJP and RSS want to destroy the brotherhood and unity of the country and want to spread hatred among all the religions but their conspiracy would not be allowed to succeed by the peace-loving people of the country and people of Jharkhand would especially maintain their brotherhood and unity.

The program was chaired by Ratan Tirkey who said that the event was very important as in this thousands have participated and also symbolises the unity among the various communities of the state.

Social activist Dayamani Barla said that those who oppose the wrong policies of the government are slapped with cases of sedition and hatred was spread in the state but in the Vidhan Sabha elections, the people rejected
their agenda.

The programme was supported by various social-religious student and women organisations.
