Questions arise over police functioning after another criminal flees from custody

Ranchi: The working style of the Ranchi police has once again come into questioning after a hardcore criminal managed to flee from police custody.

The criminal Faizan Khan who hailed from Meerut was on Wednesday arrested by a team of Gonda police station, subsequently as part of the procedure a team of the police took him to the Ranchi Sadar Hospital for medical checkup.

 After coming out of the hospital on the excuse of going to bathroom Faizan dodged the police and escaped from the area after which a manhunt has been launched in the city. In the last 11 months, a total of 14 criminals have managed to flee from the police custody which has raised serious questions over the style of functioning of the state police and has left people wondering as to how irresponsible the police has become.

People are now saying that a game of police and thief was on in which first a criminal is caught and later he manages to flee and then again the entire police department gets into action and somehow manages to arrest the criminal who had fled.

The escape of the criminals from court premises Police stations and jail ward of the hospitals while on one hand raises questioning over the working style of the concerned police officials, on the other hand, it also poses a great threat to the security.

A closer look at all the instances in which the criminals have managed to free from the police arrest has pointed that it was due to the negligence of the police personnel that these criminals managed to flee from the spot.

What is also important to note that these instances are not confined to one particular district or area but are spread across the entire state with incidents of criminals evading from police custody taking place in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Dumka, Sahibganj, Garhwa, Palamu, Gumla and Simdega etc.
