A day before counting JMM asks officials not to get lured away

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has asked the officials of the state administration not to get influenced or work under the pressure of any political party during the time of the counting.

Addressing a press conference here party spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that his party had taken serious all the doubts which it had over the election process and had also apprised the election commission in this regard.

He said that the election commission on its part had also worked to ally the apprehensions of the party and has said that in case of any suspicion tally of votes in the EVM with those in VVPAT machines will be made mandatory.

He said that the commission has written a letter to all the political parties in which it has clearly detailed the entire process of counting. He also asked the engineers and the technicians who have been hired on contract to remove any flaws in the EVMs not to indulge in any wrongdoing.

The JMM is buoyed after all the exit polls predicted that the Mahagathbandhan led by the party is poised to grab the power in Jharkhand while the BJP has been predicted to fall short of the magic number of 41.
