
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has written a letter to the Election Commission to ensure fair and impartial counting of the votes on December 23.
Party’s central general Secretary and spokesman Supriyo Bhattacharya handed over a memorandum in this regard to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of the state in which it has demanded that strict eye should be kept on the engineers and technicians appointed by the election commission for EVMs.
He said that in case of any problems in the EVM apart from the district Electoral officer the representatives of the political parties along with engineers and technicians should be allowed to go inside the rooms where the EVMs have been kept.
Further, the party said that in the room assigned for staying of EVM engineer and technicians representative of political parties should be allowed to keep an eye on their activities.
The party said that after end of each round of counting only after written approval by the polling agent or representative of the candidate the electoral officer should declare the result on public announcement system.
It has also demanded that basic amenities of drinking water, tea, toilets and emergency medical facilities should be available at the counting premises.
