Dr Sunil Barnwal details officials over fundamental duties

Ranchi: On the occasion of the 70th Constitution Day, Principal Secretary of Information and Public Relations Department Dr Sunil Kumar Barnwal repeated the Preamble of the Constitution along with the officials and personnel of the Information and Public Relations Department and Chief Minister’s Secretariat and informed about all the fundamental duties.

Speaking during the function organised on the occasion at the Suchana Bhawan here on the occasion of 70th Constitution Day he said that the constitution talks about rights and freedom and it also determines the responsibility as to how we should treat our country and our nation.

He said that the people should place the 11 fundamental duties mentioned in the Constitution in the mind as it provides a sense of responsibility and duties. Mr Barnwal said that on this day there was a need to take a pledge that people will maintain our allegiance to the Constitution throughout the year.

Dr Barnwal said that Constitution Day was formerly celebrated as Law Day but the Government of India decided that the importance of the Constitution should be passed on to every person so the constitution day is celebrated.

The contribution and importance of constitution maker Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar should also be remembered. He said that after independence, the framework of the constitution was prepared and the core of the Constitution lies in the Preamble, which serves as a guide for everyone.
