Chief Election Commissioner to visit Jharkhand Nov 20-21

Ranchi: A team of the Election Commission of India led by the Chief Election Commissioner of the country Sunil Arora will be arriving on a two day visit to the state on November 20.

Election Commissioners Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Cahndar will also be part of the team which will be chairing a series of the meeting with the officials of the state government over the preparations of the Vidhan Sabha polls in the state.

During the two day visit will hold meetings with the divisional commissioners, DCs and SPs of all the districts and will also hold a meeting with the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and DGP of Jharkhand Police. Meetings will also be held with officials of income tax, commercial taxes, airport and excise department.

The team will also be chairing a meeting separately with the representatives of the various political parties. It is for the first time after declaration of polls in Jharkhand the Chief Election Commissioner is arriving in the state.
