Divyang and 80 plus voter to vote through postal ballots

Ranchi: Chief electoral officer Vinay Kumar Choubey said that Divyang and voters who are above 80 years will be casting their votes through the postal ballot system.

He gave necessary instructions to the district electoral officer through video conferencing in this regard. He said that for the first time for voters who fall under these two categories the provision of postal ballot has been made and this has been launched from the Jharkhand assembly polls itself.

He said in the first phase on such assembly constituencies where votes will be cast in those places conducting the votes of the Divyang and 80 plus voters through postal ballots is a challenging task and to successfully conclude this in every phase different dates have been fixed and it should be ensured that these works are completed within the fixed dates.
