BJP accuses opposition of shielding Nirmal Hriday

Ranchi: The BJP has accused the opposition parties of the state of shielding Nirmal Hriday which is an organisation of Missionaries of Charity and said that it has turned into ‘Nirmam Hriday’ (cruel heart) only due to the support of the parties and so-called leaders of Jharkhand.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here Rajya Sabha MP Sameer Oraon said that it was due to such parties that organisations like Nirmal Hriday grew and indulged freely in the trade of the infants.

He said that leaders of JMM, Congress and JVM(P) have all visited the organisation due to which it has become a favourite of the opposition and despite having indulged in the trade of more than 900 children these parties and their leaders are keeping quiet on the issue.

Describing the modus operandi of the organisation Mr Oraon alleged that rape victims and minor pregnant girls are kept at the organisation and once they deliver the baby they are made to leave and the child is kept which is later on  sold. He said that any orphan or left child can only become eligible for adoption when the matter is brought before the child welfare committee within 24 hours.

Attacking opposition leaders Hemant Soren and Babulal Marandi, he said that silence of these leaders on the act of Nirmal Hriday was ample proof of their support to them and their religious heads. Mr Oraon said that the opposition was so much worried about vote bank that it even considers trade of infants valid.
