Pakur: Police have seized 14 tractors involved in illegal sand mining from the Mahespur Police Station area of this district.
A team of the district administration conducted raids at Babupur and Gwalpada Balu Ghats on the Bansloi river during which the vehicles laden with sand were seized. However, all the tractor drivers and the labourers managed to flee from the spot.
SDO Prabhat Kumar said that Pakur DC had received a tip-off regarding the illegal sand mining in the area after which the raid was conducted. He said that an FIR against the vehicle owners and tractor drivers has also been registered.
