Former minister Enos Ekka walks out of jail

Ranchi: Former minister Ebos Ekka who was was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court in connection with murder of para teacher came out of the Birsa Munda Central jail located at Hotwar here.

A bench of the Jharkhand High Court comprising justice AK Gupta and Justice Rajesh Kumar on September 26 had granted the bail to former Kolibera MLA and had also directed him to surrender his passport.

The court has asked him not to leave the state without prior permission and has been strictly warned against influencing any of the witnesses in the case. Ekka was arrested on November 26, 2014, on the charges of involvement in the murder of a para teacher Manok Kumar.

He was awarded life imprisonment in the case due to which he ended up losing the membership of the house. Ekka was elected from Kolibera Seat of Jharkhand Assembly on three successive occasions in 2005, 2009 and 2014.
