Dacoits loot Rs 20 lakh from AXIS Bank branch in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: Six armed miscreants looted a sum of Rs 20 lakh from a branch of the Axis Bank located at Nirsa in this district.

Police said that all the dacoits came come on a bike and after entering inside the bank they took the customers along with the bank staff hostage on gunpoint and also snatched away their mobile phones. Later on gunpoint, they forced the cashier to open the strong room.

From the strong room, they collected Rs 20 lakh in cash and later fled on the bikes. Before leaving they kept a couple of bombs outside the bank gate.

Eyewitnesses said that one the criminals were wearing a mask while another was wearing a helmet four others had not covered their faces. 

Upon receiving information a police team reached on the spot and is conducting an investigation into the incident. Further probe was on.
