Economic slowdown in Country while Modi busy campaigning for Trump in US: Brinda Karat

Ranchi: CPM politburo member Brinda Karat said that while one hand the country is grappling with economic slowdown and unemployment while on the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is campaigning for US President  Donald Trump.

Addressing a press conference here she said that what the country will gain economically from this visit of the Prime Minister is the most important question. She said that on the items which are being imported from America taxes have been increased and neither any benefit was received on the trade front or any other area.

She said that the Prime Minister is claiming that investment of 2.5 million dollars will take place but this was only in his dreams and alleged that the central and the state government are making new announcements on a daily basis in order to mislead the people.

She said that Jharkhand is now being known as a state famous for mob lynching as most of the incidents have took place here. She said that on the incident which took place in Khunti on September 22 the police itself as accepted that it was under pressure from above which proves that in the state the agenda of the BJP and RSS were being forced upon.

She said that in Jamshedpur and Saraikela many auto parts factory have closed and around 60000 laborers have become unemployed however the state government was not paying attention to these things. She said that in the godowns of the country food grains worth more than 6 crore tons have rotten but despite that hunger deaths are taking place.
