Daltonganj: Palamu MP VD Ram along with other elected representatives and officials of the railways flagged off the Dehri-Ranchi intercity Express train here.
The train which will reach Ranchi via Palamu has fulfilled the long pending demand of the people of this area.
The start of the train will reduce the travel time between Ranchi and Daltonganj to just four hours which was earlier 8 hours. On its way, the train will also stop on Garhwa and Japla Road Station.
The train fare in general class from Daltonganj to Ranchi is just Rs 80 compared to Rs 250 charged by the bus.
The people who travelled on the train on its inaugural run said that the train will benefit the students the most.
