Gumla: A local court in this district awarded life imprisonment to a person held guilty of raping and murdering a six year old girl.
The court of Additional District and sessions judge Lolark Dubey awarded the punishment to the accused Neeraj Panigrahi and also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000. The man hails from Kundaltola village of Basia Police Station area.
An FIR against him was registered by the mother of the deceased against the accused who stated on the evening of April 26 her daughter had gone missing and two days later her body was found. Locals had said that the girl was lured by Neeraj who committed the crime and murdered her.
