Centre and state govt running many schemes for poverty eradication: Guv

Godda: Governor Draupadi Murmu said that the central and the state government were running many schemes for poverty eradication of which the people should take advantage.

Participating in a series of programmes during her visit to the district she said that all the schemes are focused on providing basic amenities of life to the people including homes, toilets, healthcare, education, etc. She said that water conservation was important as the water level was going down.

She said that for the empowerment of the women they were being trained for mushroom cultivation and they are also working as woman masons. She said that society will be only developed with the women are economically empowered. During the function, the governor also distributed deeds and assets among the beneficiaries of the various government schemes and laid the foundation stone for many projects.

Later participating in Vikas Mela organised in Karmatand she said that the country was marching on the path of development and said that the government was especially working to strengthen the women as unless they develop the country will not make progress and for them SHGs have been formed. She said that the schemes can only be successful if the people show their participation and also asked the people to do their bit for water conservation in the state.

She asked the villagers to be aware of the programmes and take their advantages and also inspected the various stalls which had been put up at the venue.
