Gumla: An area commander of the PLFI who was carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh was arrested by Gumla Police from Basia Police Station area of this district.
Addressing a press conference here Gumla SP Anjani Kumar Jha said that the arrested has been identified as Sani Munda. He said that police has received a tip-off that area commander Sani Munda had come to visit his in-laws at Dwarseni village following which a police team conducted raids.
Upon seeing the police a man started to run towards the forest who was later apprehended and caught.
Several cases related to murder, arson and arms act are registered against him in different police station areas of this district.
A mobile has been also arrested from the area commander the SP said adding that reward on his head would be distributed among the police personnel who had caught the ultra.
