Congress gears up to celebrate 75th birth anniversary of Late PM Rajiv Gandhi

Ranchi: A meeting of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee was held at the party headquarters here in which the party decided to celebrate the 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Rajeev Gandhi.

Detailing about the decisions taken in the meeting party spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that on August 20 the day will commence from Sadbhawan Run which will be held from Morabadi to Zilla School premises.

He said that person bagging the first position will be given a cash award of Rs 10,000 while those at the second and third position will also be given cash awards. A seminar will be also organised on the day in which eminent educationist and intellectuals will be shedding light on the life and contribution of Rajeev Gandhi.

In the evening at the Albert Ekka Chowk, a cultural programme will be also be organised. Mr Shahdeo said that Congress legislature wing leader Alamgir Aalam has been made the convener of the programmes in which former Union Minister and in charge for party affairs in Jharkhand RPN Singh will be present as the Chief Guest.
