Dumka SP along with wife goes on Kanwar Yatra

Dumka: After working tirelessly day and night to ensure that the month-long mela concluded peacefully in Basukinath Dham located in Jarmundi block of this district Superintendent of Police YS Ramesh along with his wife Priti Ramesh has himself gone on the Kanwar Yatra.

As part of the 110 kilometer kanwar yatra which is undertaken by the devotees or the kanwariyas who pick up the holy water of the Ganga from Sultanganj and walk all the way to Deoghar where they offer Jala-abhishek to Baba Baidynath Mr Ramesh too barefooted along with his wife is undertaking the yatra as he too has great belief on Lord Shiva.

Mr Ramesh who commenced his yatra from Friday will also after Jalaabhishek at Baba Basukinath Dham after paying obeisance at Deoghar. An IPS officer of 2010 batch Mr Ramesh was appointed as Dumka SP in November 2018 and in his short tenure 10 months has added many feathers to his cap as not only the district police under his leadership gunned down dreaded ultra zonal commander of CPI (Maoists) Tala Da alias Shahdeo Rai but also arrested many maoists and forced key operatives including PC Di to surrender.
