Bakri Eid celebrated across state

Ranchi: The festival of Bakri Eid of Eid Ul Adha was on Monday celebrated across the state with traditional fervor and gaiety.

Muslim brethren offered the Namaz at their nearby mosques and Idgahs after which they greeted the fellow men and later performed the scared Quarbani after which they had a lavish lunch with their family members and other relatives.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Leader of Opposition Hemant Soren also greeted the people on the occasion of Bakri Eid. However in wake of the twin festivals of last Somvari of the auspicious month of Shravan and Bakri Eid falling on the same day the Ranchi police was on an alert mode.

Elaborate security arrangements were made in the city with police keeping an eye on trouble mongers. The district administration had deployed 121 magistrates and 101 police officers and more than 2000 jawans at various spots in the city to keep an eye on the trouble mongers.

12 patrolling parties were formed for the day in which a magistrate and a police officer along with jawans were present to keep an eye on sensitive areas.
