World tribal Day celebrated across the state

Ranchi: The world tribal day was celebrated across the state amid much fanfare especially in the state capital Ranchi where many organizations organized different events as part of the functions which also included processions,
pad yatras and conclaves. 

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda dressed in traditional tribal attire along with his Meera Munda himself participated in the pad yatra program which was taken out from Rajendra Chowk of Doranda.

Mr Munda also interacted with the people during the event. Joint procession by the tribal organizations was also taken out in the morning from the Sainik market to the convocation center of the Ranchi college.

In the padyatra program tribals dressed in their traditional attires and along with their musical instruments participated and after reaching at the venue cultural program and public meeting was held.

During the day a bike rally was also taken out by the youth of the community and Statue of the great men hailing from the tribal community was garlanded The Kendriya Sarna Samiti took out a pad yatra from Albert Ekka Chowk to Samadhi Sthal of Bhagwan Birsa Munda at Kokar.

A seminar was also at regional language department of the Ranchi University in which the teachers, authors and historians and researchers participated. A felicitation function was also held at Gossner College while a discussion was also be organized at St Xavier’s College and a series of other programs were also held on the occasion.
