
Ranchi: Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal said that Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will be on Saturday launching the Mukhyamantri Krishi Aashirwad Yojana in the state in a function to be held at Harmu Grounds of the state capital.
Addressing a press conference at the Suchana Bhawan here she said in the first phase 15 lakh farmers will be given funds in the first installment and so far online entry of 13.60 lakh farmers has been done.
She said that a sum of Rs 3000 crore will be spent on the scheme and for the first phase Rs 800 crore will be spent in two parts and for the first part a sum of Rs 400 crore has been sanctioned. She said in the function to be organised in Ranchi five districts will be online will be connected including East Singhbhum, Giridih, Pakur, Latehar and Chatra.
She said in the functions to be held in other districts MPs and MLAs will be present. She said in the first phase 15 lakh farmers have been included while by October 35 lakh farmers will be given the benefits of the scheme.
Ms Singhal said that under the scheme farmers having land size between 1 to 5 acres will be given a maximum of Rs 25,000 and a minimum of Rs 5000 and in the first phase Rs 2500 will be given by DBT in the accounts of
the farmers.
She said that in the first phase 13.60 lakh farmers who would be given first installment of the fund 83 percent of them have less than two acres of land and among them 65 percent farmers have less than one acres of land.
IPRD Director Ram Lakhan Prasad Gupta said that Vice President will also flag off Kissan Sarthi Rath in which the farmers will be detailed about the various schemes of the state government so that they can take their advantage.
He said that Rath will travel in all the panchayats in the next 45 days and said that since the rath is tagged with GPS therefore IPRD will keeping an eye on its movement.
Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpet Rey said that elaborate security arrangements have been made for the visit. He said that the Vice President will be at the venue for about an hour.
Mr Rey said that more than 10,000 people are expected to attend for which all arrangements have been made a large number of magistrates and security jawans have been deployed. He said that traffic will not be stopped. Agriculture Director Chhavi Ranjan was also present on the occasion.
