Ranchi: Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth has raised questions related to drinking water and sanitation department and sought to know from the government as to under which scheme the panchayats are being provided drinking water through pipelines.
Replying to his queries Union Jal Shakti Minister Ratan Lal Kataria said that water was a state subject. He said that under NRDWP the ministry works to provide technical and financial assistance to increase the drinking water supply schemes through a pipeline in the villages. He said that under the Jal Jivan Mission a target has been set to provide drinking water through pipelines in all the rural homes by 2024.
The Union Minister said that the department has framed schemes for rainwater conservation so that the rainwater which goes waste and reused for agriculture and other needs.
