Congress attacks government over deteriorating food grains in godowns

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Congress has attacked the state government saying that while on one hand, people were dying due to hunger in the state on the other hand due to negligence and lackadaisical attitude of the food and civil supplies department foodgrains were rotting in godowns. 

JPCC spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that in the godowns of the capital 75,000 quintals of food grains is still unsafe and just by expressing his concern Minister Saryu Rai cana not dodge his responsibility and warned that the party will be staging agitation against the minister for rotting of the food grains.

The rice kept in the FCI godowns in Kadru had badly rotten and has become unfit for distribution among the poor and in the mid day meal scheme. More than 1200 quintal of food grains including 1009 quintal of pulses has rotten including several quintals of sugar, wheat and salt
