Deoghar: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Pathrol mandal staged a protest at Rangasirs? Chowk, burning an effigy of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and demanding an impartial CBI investigation into the death of tribal activist Nisha Bhagat.
The protest was held under the leadership of mandal president Krishna Kumar Poddar, who alleged that administrative harassment and insensitivity had contributed to the distress faced by Bhagat.
Poddar said reports that Bhagat had sought help from the police station in-charge through a live video message before her death raised serious questions about the administration's response. He questioned why her grievances were not addressed in time and called for an independent investigation to establish the facts and identify those responsible.
He also demanded strict legal action against anyone found guilty in the case. The BJP said it would continue its democratic protests until a fair investigation was ensured and justice was delivered to the victim's family.
Several party workers participated in the demonstration, including Nandlal Tiwari, Madan Chakraborty, Okil Bhokta, Arun Bhokta, Maheshwar Bhokta, Guddu Bhokta, Rambilas Yadav, Sandeep Mehra, Ram Swarath Bhokta, Bachchu Bhokta, Pran Tiwari, Ashok Sah, Shyam Sundar Bhokta and Gaurav Tiwari, among others.
