BJP Deoghar Marks 110th Birth Anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya

The Deoghar district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) observed the 110th birth anniversary of party ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at its district office on Thursday.

Party leaders and workers paid tribute to Upadhyaya and recalled his life, political thought and philosophy. Upadhyaya, who was born on September 25, 1916, is associated with the philosophy of Integral Humanism and the concept of Antyodaya, or the upliftment of the most marginalised sections of society.

Addressing the gathering, BJP Deoghar district president Sachin Rawani spoke about Upadhyaya’s life and said his emphasis on putting the nation first and working for the welfare of people at the grassroots remains relevant.

Rawani also said that, according to the BJP, the Narendra Modi-led government’s welfare and development initiatives are aligned with Upadhyaya’s vision of Antyodaya. He said BJP workers would continue working to ensure access to basic facilities such as housing, education and healthcare among people at the grassroots.

District general secretary Abhay Anand Jha, Sunita Singh, state working committee member Vishakha Singh, senior party worker Gauri Shankar Sharma, district vice-president Mukesh Pathak, district secretary Manoj Mishra, Savitri Devi, Gopi Barman and other party workers attended the programme.
