The annual meeting of the Hatia Railway Station Durga Puja Committee was held in a cordial atmosphere, with members unanimously re-electing Nandan Yadav as president and Indrajeet Singh as secretary.

The meeting focused largely on preparations for this year’s Durga Puja celebrations and ways to make the event more attractive, organised and welcoming for devotees. Committee members discussed plans to give the puja pandal a distinctive theme reflecting both grandeur and cultural traditions.

Special attention was given to arrangements for devotees, including security, cleanliness, drinking water and traffic management. The committee agreed that these facilities would need to be strengthened to ensure that visitors can attend the celebrations comfortably and safely, particularly during the busiest days of the festival.

Members also reviewed the recently held Janmashtami celebrations and other religious and cultural programmes organised by the committee. The success of these events was appreciated, while discussions were held on expanding the committee’s social service and public welfare activities in the coming months.

Nandan Yadav and Indrajeet Singh said the committee would work to make this year’s Durga Puja more than just a religious celebration by using it as an opportunity to promote social harmony, brotherhood and Jharkhand’s cultural traditions.

Committee members expressed confidence that the Durga Puja pandal at Hatia Railway Station would emerge as one of Ranchi’s notable festive attractions this year, while maintaining a strong focus on orderly arrangements and public convenience.
