Late-Night Liquor Party Turns Violent in Ranchi, Youth Shot in Stomach

A late-night gathering involving a group of young men at Manda Bagicha in Ranchi turned violent after an argument reportedly escalated into gunfire around 2 am. A young man identified as Tony Lohra, a resident of Kamde, sustained a gunshot wound to his stomach and was rushed to the RIMS Trauma Centre, where he is undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be serious.

According to preliminary information, several young men had gathered at Manda Bagicha late at night. An argument reportedly broke out among them over an unspecified issue. The situation soon escalated, and a shot was fired during the confrontation. Tony was hit by the bullet, triggering panic among those present.

The incident was reported to the Bariatu police, following which a police team reached the spot. The Sadar DSP and the officer in charge of the police station inspected the location and collected evidence related to the shooting.

Police are now questioning people who were present at the gathering and attempting to establish exactly what happened before the shooting. Investigators are also working to identify the person who allegedly fired the weapon.

During the preliminary investigation, police have reportedly learned that groups of young men frequently gather at Manda Bagicha late at night. Local residents have also reportedly raised complaints in the past about alcohol consumption and gatherings in the area.

Police have begun identifying suspects and are conducting searches at possible locations as part of the investigation. The weapon used in the shooting has not yet been recovered, and the exact circumstances leading to the firing remain unclear.

Meanwhile, Tony Lohra continues to receive treatment at RIMS. His condition is being closely monitored by doctors.

The investigation is now focused on several key questions: What triggered the argument during the late-night gathering, who fired the shot, and why was a firearm present at the location in the first place? Police are expected to establish these details through witness statements and other evidence collected from the scene.
