Devendra Nath Mahto Launches Second Phase of Anti-Corruption Recruitment Campaign in Jharkhand

The second phase of the "JPSC-JSSC Corruption-Free Recruitment Campaign" seeking a transparent, fair and corruption-free recruitment system in Jharkhand began on Monday from Nemra, the ancestral village of veteran JMM leader Shibu Soren.

Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who is leading the campaign, formally launched the recruitment reform campaign by garlanding the life-size statue of Shibu Soren at Lukaiya Tand and planting a Sal tree sapling.

Mahto said the campaign aims to create greater awareness among young people and job aspirants about transparency, accountability and fairness in the state's recruitment process, while also building public support for reforms.

The campaign, which began in Ramgarh district, will travel through all 24 districts of Jharkhand. The proposed route includes Hazaribagh, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Dhanbad and Bokaro, among other districts.

According to the organisers, a legal team will accompany the campaign to assist candidates facing issues related to recruitment disputes and court cases. The team is expected to provide guidance and support to candidates pursuing legal remedies.

Mahto said the campaign would remain completely constitutional, democratic and peaceful. He said the objective was to push for a recruitment system in which deserving candidates receive a fair opportunity and corruption and irregularities have no place.

The campaign comes amid continuing demands from sections of Jharkhand's youth and job aspirants for greater transparency in recruitment examinations conducted through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).

The organisers said the second phase would focus on taking the demand beyond Ranchi and connecting candidates across the state's districts, with the aim of turning recruitment reforms into a wider public issue.
