Veena Kumari scored the ninth goal before Seema Oraon added another to complete her four-goal haul and make it 10-0. Sonal Munda then rounded off the remarkable performance with Gumla’s 11th goal.
The emphatic victory has sparked celebrations among the district administration, sports and education departments in Gumla. The Deputy Commissioner, District Sports Officer, District Education Officer and District Education Superintendent, along with senior sportspersons and football enthusiasts, congratulated the team and wished the players success in their upcoming matches.
The result also gives the Jharkhand team a major boost with two league matches still remaining. With their attacking confidence high and defence yet to concede a goal in this match, the Gumla girls will be looking to carry the momentum into their next fixtures.
