Traffic arrangements in Ranchi will change significantly on August 15 in view of the main Independence Day state function at Morabadi Maidan. To ensure smooth traffic movement and maintain security around the venue, vehicle movement will be regulated on several important roads. Heavy vehicles will be completely barred from entering the city between 6 am and 10 pm.

Several drop gates have also been set up in and around Morabadi. Entry through Drop Gates 1, 3, 7, 9, 18, 20 and 23 will be restricted to the Chief Minister's convoy, VVIPs, media vehicles and vehicles carrying valid passes.

Where will heavy vehicles be stopped?

Heavy vehicles arriving in Ranchi from different directions will be stopped at designated points.

Vehicles coming from Kanke will be allowed only up to Bodeya. Heavy vehicles coming from Chaibasa and Khunti will be stopped at Birsa Chowk, while those arriving from Gumla and Simdega will be restricted up to the ITI stop.

Vehicles coming from Jamshedpur will be allowed only up to Durga Soren Chowk in Namkum. Heavy vehicle movement will also be restricted on the Sadabahar Chowk route. Vehicles coming through the Kanke-Patratu route will be stopped near Law University.

Parking arrangements for different categories

Separate parking areas have been designated for different categories of vehicles attending the function. The Chief Minister's convoy and VVIP vehicles will be parked behind the main stage.

Other designated vehicles will be parked on the western side of the main stage and in front of Bapu Vatika. Vehicles belonging to officials will be parked near Oxygen Park on the western side of the stage.

A separate parking area in front of Bapu Vatika will be available for media vehicles. Vehicles carrying orange and green passes will also have designated parking zones. Parking for general vehicles will be available in the field opposite TRI.

No parking on these stretches

Parking will be completely prohibited from Deputy Commissioner's Residence More to the Hockey Stadium and from Ranchi College More to the VVIP entry gate.

The administration has urged residents to check the revised traffic arrangements before leaving home on August 15. People travelling towards Morabadi and nearby areas are advised to use the designated routes and parking areas to avoid unnecessary congestion.

With heavy vehicles restricted for 16 hours and several roads being regulated around the ceremony venue, commuters should allow extra travel time and avoid the Morabadi area unless necessary.
