Deputy Commissioner Conducts Surprise Inspection of Ramgarh Sadar Hospital

Deputy Commissioner Rituraj conducted a surprise inspection of Sadar Hospital, Ramgarh, on Wednesday to assess the healthcare facilities and arrangements being provided to patients.

During the inspection, he reviewed the availability of doctors and healthcare workers, OPD services, cleanliness, medicines, diagnostic facilities and other arrangements at the hospital.

Three doctors — ENT specialist Dr. Kirti Sinha, radiologist Dr. Rajan Pandey and dermatologist Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh — were found absent during the inspection. Taking the matter seriously, the Deputy Commissioner directed the authorities to seek explanations from the three doctors and withhold their salaries until further orders.

In view of the large number of patients visiting the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Civil Surgeon, Ramgarh, to ensure that two OPD sessions are conducted every day in the orthopaedics, gynaecology and medicine departments. The move is aimed at improving access to treatment and reducing waiting time for patients.

The Deputy Commissioner also inspected cleanliness arrangements across the hospital premises and directed officials to ensure regular and proper cleaning of all wards and other areas. He reviewed the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme and instructed officials to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are covered and receive the benefits of the scheme.

During his visit to various wards, the Deputy Commissioner interacted directly with patients to understand their experiences. He enquired about the availability of medical treatment, medicines, diagnostic tests, food and other facilities, and listened to the problems being faced by patients and their attendants.

He also inspected the hospital's OPDs, laboratory, registration counter, toilets, mess, ultrasound room, X-ray room and other important facilities. Officials were directed to address difficulties faced by patients at the registration counter and make hospital services more organised and accessible.

The Deputy Commissioner said that Sadar Hospital is one of the district's major healthcare institutions and providing quality medical care to every patient is a priority for the district administration. He directed doctors and other officials to discharge their responsibilities seriously and ensure that patients' concerns are addressed promptly and with sensitivity.
