JPSC Breaking News:Three Commission Members Quit Amid CID Summons

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has witnessed a fresh development in the ongoing controversy over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, with three of its members resigning from their posts amid a CID investigation.

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, acting on the recommendation of the state government, has accepted the resignations of JPSC members Dr Ajita Bhattacharya, Dr Anima Hansda and Dr Jamal Ahmad. The development comes at a time when the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has summoned the three members for questioning in connection with alleged irregularities in the 14th Combined Civil Services Examination.

The resignations have added a new dimension to the controversy surrounding the state’s premier recruitment body. The CID is examining various aspects of the examination process and is expected to question the members about decisions and developments related to the conduct of the examination.

The latest development comes amid continued protests by student groups over alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations. Students have been demanding the cancellation of the 14th JPSC Preliminary Examination and an independent investigation into the alleged irregularities.

Earlier, former JPSC chairman and former Jharkhand chief secretary L. Khiangte was also questioned by the CID in connection with the controversy. He had resigned from the post of JPSC chairman amid the growing dispute.

The resignation of the three members is likely to intensify scrutiny of the functioning of the commission and the examination process. It also comes as the state government and student representatives continue discussions over various demands related to recruitment examinations and reforms in the examination system.
