Rose Water Sprinkling Brings Relief to Kanwariyas Amid Heat on First Shravan Monday

Deoghar: A massive influx of Kanwariyas reached Deoghar on the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan to offer prayers and perform Jalabhishek at the Baba Baidyanath Temple. Since early morning, Kanwariya routes and the temple area witnessed an overwhelming rush of devotees. Rising humidity and intense afternoon heat made the long walk difficult for thousands of pilgrims.

To provide relief, the Deoghar Municipal Corporation, under the guidance of the Mayor and the leadership of the Municipal Commissioner, launched a special drive to sprinkle cool rose water through sprinkler machines at key locations along the Kanwariya route.

The fragrant showers brought immediate relief to the devotees, helping them overcome exhaustion caused by the long journey from Sultanganj. The soothing aroma of rose water also added to the spiritual atmosphere across the pilgrimage route. Many Kanwariyas appreciated the initiative, saying the cooling spray refreshed them after hours of walking in the scorching heat and humid weather, making their pilgrimage more comfortable.

The Municipal Corporation said continuous monitoring of the arrangements is being carried out throughout the Shravan month. Special focus will remain on Mondays, with uninterrupted services including drinking water, sanitation, fogging and other relief measures to ensure that every devotee visiting Deoghar has a safe and comfortable pilgrimage.
