

Deoghar: The Deoghar Municipal Corporation has intensified its preparations for the Shravani Fair 2026. As part of the exercise, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena conducted a surprise inspection of key locations across the city along with engineers and administrative officials from various departments. The inspection was aimed at ensuring clean, safe and efficient civic amenities for the lakhs of devotees expected to visit Deoghar during the annual pilgrimage.The inspection began at the Shivganga premises, where the Municipal Commissioner reviewed cleanliness, drainage, lighting and other arrangements made for devotees. Public toilets in the area were also inspected, and officials were directed to ensure regular sanitation, adequate water supply, proper lighting and all essential facilities.The Municipal Commissioner also visited the Municipal Corporation's dormitory to assess the availability of drinking water, toilets, sanitation and other basic amenities. She instructed officials to complete all necessary improvement works at the earliest so that devotees arriving from different parts of the country do not face any inconvenience.The inspection also covered Nehru Park, Club Ground and the old bus stand premises under the Municipal Corporation. Officials and engineers were instructed to complete all pending works within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality standards. The Municipal Commissioner made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated during the fair.Describing the Shravani Fair as Deoghar's biggest religious event and a symbol of the city's identity, the Municipal Commissioner said the Municipal Corporation is committed to providing every devotee with a clean, safe and well-organised environment. She directed all departments to work in close coordination, complete preparations before the fair begins and ensure continuous monitoring and prompt action throughout the event.The inspection was attended by the Additional Municipal Commissioner, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Manager, Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers and other officials and staff of the Municipal Corporation. Officials briefed the Municipal Commissioner on the progress of various works and assured her that all preparations would be completed within the prescribed deadline.
