

Deoghar: Construction of a grand Radha-Krishna temple began in Maheshmara on Monday on the occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima. Senior social worker Dr Sunil Khawade laid the foundation stone in the presence of local residents and marked the start of construction by placing the first brick.The Bhoomi Pujan was performed by priest Janardan Pandit according to Vedic rituals amid the chanting of sacred hymns. A large number of local residents attended the ceremony.Addressing the gathering, Dr Khawade said the construction of the Radha-Krishna temple in Maheshmara was a matter of great joy for the area.
He assured full support for the project and said every effort would be made to build the temple on a grand scale so that devotees from far and wide could visit for worship.He said the temple would feature attractive architecture and would help create a spiritual atmosphere in the locality. Facilities for the convenience of devotees would also be developed within the temple premises.Appealing for public participation, he urged people to contribute with their time, effort and financial support to make the project a success.Among those present were Giridhari Mandal, Manoj Pandey, Satyanarayan Khawade, Gopal Mandal, Sanjay Mandal, Chhotan Mandal, Jaleshwar Mandal and Mangan Paliyar, along with several local residents.
