Will BJP retain all four seats in second phase?

Ranchi: BJP might have swept the 2014 Lok Sabha, but there is an uphill task to retain its seats in 2019 particularly in the second phase. The second phase polling will take place at Ranchi, Khunti, Hazaribagh and Koderma Lok sabha seats-all was won by the BJP in 2014.

The main opposition parties-Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), RJD, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P) and RJD have formed a grand alliance. In second there is a direct fight between Congress and BJP on three seats and one seat the fight is between BJP and JVM-P.

In Ranchi, BJP has fielded Sanjay Seth a close associate of Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Congress to former Union Minister Subodh Kanat Sahay. Sahay had represented Ranchi from 2004 to 2014. The BJP is facing a tough time as the sitting party Ranchi MP, Ramatahal Chaudhary has turned hostile and fighting the election as an independent. Chaudhary is a Mahto leader and in Ranchi, more than four lakhs are Mahto voters.
