Injured Deer Rescued Near Bisa Forest, Villagers’ Alertness Saves Its Life

Rajarappa: An injured deer was found near the Bisa forest area under Gola block on Thursday morning. Some villagers spotted the frightened animal while heading towards their fields. The deer had visible injury marks on its body and was bleeding from the forehead.

Showing promptness and concern, the villagers immediately informed the Forest Department about the incident. Soon after receiving the information, a forest team reached the spot and rescued the injured deer before taking it to the Gola veterinary hospital for treatment.

Veterinary doctors provided primary treatment to the deer and later stated that its condition had improved. Keeping its safety in mind, the Forest Department shifted the animal to the deer park located in Purabdih, where it is currently under observation.

Forest guard Nilesh Poddar said that due to extreme heat and shortage of water, the deer had wandered out of the forest and entered the nearby village area. During this time, a group of stray dogs attacked the animal, leaving it injured.

Thanks to the alertness of villagers and the quick response of the Forest Department, the deer’s life could be saved. Local residents said that had the authorities not been informed on time, the animal’s condition might have become critical. At present, the deer is safe and continuing to receive treatment under the department’s supervision.
