Ayushman Health Camp Held in Ramgarh Jail Under TB-Free India Drive, Portable X-Ray Machine Launched

Ramgarh: An Ayushman Arogya health camp was organized at Upkara Ramgarh on April 6, 2026, as part of the ongoing 100-day TB-Free India campaign. The camp was inaugurated by Civil Surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar, who also flagged off a newly introduced hand-held X-ray machine.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Kumar highlighted the seriousness of tuberculosis, calling it a highly infectious disease. He explained that if not treated on time, a single TB patient can infect 10 to 15 healthy individuals within a year. He also assured that TB testing and treatment are available free of cost at all government health centres.

He further informed that TB patients receive financial assistance of ?1000 per month directly into their bank accounts under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana. Additionally, nutritional support in the form of food baskets is being provided to patients through Nikshay Mitras during their treatment.

During the camp, the TB cell conducted chest screenings of high-risk individuals using the hand-held X-ray machine. Other health services were also offered, including blood sugar and blood pressure tests by the NCD cell, and HIV testing by the ICTC cell.

The event saw the presence of District TB Officer Dr. Swaraj, Jail Doctor Dr. Ravindra Kumar, advocate Ramji from the Civil Court Ramgarh, DPM Pradeep Kumar Singh, along with several officials and healthcare workers from the health department and associated units.

Among those present were Arvind Kumar (STLS), Neeraj Kumar (SDPS), Upendra Kumar (Blood Bank LT), Hareram Prasad (ICTC Counsellor), Martha (GNM, NCD Cell), Manu Kumar Mahto (X-ray Technician), and Jitendra Kumar Rana, along with other staff members.
