Sunil Khawade inaugurates night football tournament in Bhojpur, Floodlit ground hosts exciting matches, promise of bigger event next year

Deoghar. A night football tournament was organized on Monday at the Durga Temple ground in Bhojpur by Maa Durga Sporting Yuva Club. The event was inaugurated by District Olympic Association president Dr. Sunil Khawade, who interacted with players and kicked off the tournament.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khawade said that such a floodlit night football event was being organized in the area for the first time, which is a commendable initiative. He noted that such events provide a platform for rural talent and boost the enthusiasm of youth.

He also assured that the tournament would be organized on a grander scale next year.He added that continuous efforts are being made for the development of sports and players in the district. Full support will be extended to youth clubs to promote football.

He also encouraged the organizing committee to hold a volleyball tournament in the future, assuring cooperation.A total of eight teams participated in the tournament, including Bhojpur, Dhodsa, Belatikar, Basulia, Jhundi, Khirwatari, Devipur FC and ST Boys. The matches continued late into the night with energetic performances by the players.

Umesh Sharma served as the referee. Mukhiya Vibha Chaudhary, club president Bhudev Sharma and several local representatives and sports enthusiasts were present. The event witnessed great enthusiasm among the villagers.
