Demand Rises to Regulate Private School Fees in Deoghar

Deoghar:The Mayor of Deoghar Municipal Corporation, Ravi Kumar Raut, has written a letter to the district administration demanding a check on the annual fees and re-admission charges being collected by private schools in the city. The letter highlights that a large number of private schools are operating in Deoghar, where thousands of students are enrolled, and additional charges are being imposed at the beginning of every academic session.

In the letter, the Mayor stated that such charges have become a financial burden for parents, especially those from ordinary backgrounds. He pointed out that many schools are also collecting re-admission fees from existing students, which is causing concern among guardians.

The letter further mentioned that former Education Minister Ramdas Soren had earlier directed schools to stop such practices. It also cited examples of Garhwa and Palamu districts, where the administration has taken steps to control such fee collections. The Mayor has urged the district administration to intervene in the matter and ensure proper coordination among students, parents, and school management, so that the education system remains fair and balanced.
